Magpul PTS PDR-C Review

The Magpul PTS PDR-C is one of the hottest topics in airsoft. When it first was unveiled by PTS at the SHOT Show, airsofters immediately started asking for it, saving for the day it would finally come out. It took Magpul PTS over two years, but the airsoft version of the PDR is finally available.

To most, the look of the PDR-C is reminiscent of the P90, mostly due to the compact shape of the grip. However, the PDR uses M4 or STANAG magazines, making it more versatile than the P90 (not to mention magazines are easier to buy and easier to carry). Externally, the Magpul PDR is a simple design. An upper picatinny rail allows for attachment of optics. A button just below the scope rail switches the replica shell ejection port from right to left. Read more

KWA and LWRC Airsoft News

While the first few days of the SHOT Show were fairly quiet for KWA in terms of new releases, they saved a stunner for the end of the week. KWA’s other products on display at the shot show are items we’re exited about, but had seen or heard of before. These included the KWA Sphinx SDP Compact, the Magpul PTS Mega Arms LM4, and the Magpul PTS ACR GBB, which will use the KWA LM4 system. However, on Friday, KWA announced that they had secured an exclusive worldwide license to produce LWRC International airsoft rifles and training platforms.

Action Sport Games – SHOT Show 2013

Action Sport Games, one of the premier European airsoft distributors, was at the 2013 SHOT Show displaying their upcoming US product line. The announcement that ASG will be distributing in the US brings a number of exclusively licensed airsoft items to our domestic airsoft market. Among these are the famed LMT, a number of B&T items, and some unique replicas including the CZ Scorpion.

Action Sport Games just recently moved into their US distribution center, and is expecting to be shipping within a month or so. Airsoft Outlet NW is excited to be carrying a number of new items, which should be available soon. Read more

KWA at SHOT Show 2013

KWA is one of the biggest names in airsoft right now, and one of the leaders in developing airsoft guns as robust, realistic training tools. At the 2013 SHOT Show, KWA put the focus on the Professional Training series of pistols and rifles.

In the past few months, KWA has been racing to get the long awaited KRISS Vector Gas Blowback SMG to retailers’ shelves. They did make their Christmas deadline, but there are a number of other existing projects that are still in production. As KWA continues to release product, they’ll work on expanding their product line. At this show, KWA was demonstrating the newly released KRISS Vector, but they did have one new model to announce. Spartan Imports at SHOT Show 2013

Spartan Imports is one of the bigger airsoft players at SHOT Show, and often brings a number of new products to the show. This year, they had a slate of products delivered for the show, but some of them were unavailable for display. A couple of Tango Down rifles in 20 inch DMR and 7 inch PDW configurations were not yet approved for licensed release, so I was unable to provide photos of those. However, there were still a couple of unique surprises in store.

The first thing Spartan Imports showed me was a new Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm Compact airsoft pistol. This is fully licensed, and bears the complete S&W trademarks. A metal slide and barrel give this GBB replica a nice feel, especially in conjunction with M&P ergonomics. A lot of people have been looking for a compact or subcompact gas blowback airsoft pistol for use in concealed carry training. This pistol is ideal for that, as it’s size is fairly similar to a number of compact handguns, and the realistic function facilitates accurate training. Read more
